The Nature Conservancy is working with local partners to replant one billion trees in the great Atlantic rainforest, restoring one millions acres by 2015.

Brazil’s Atlantic forest is only 12% of original size. and only 7% is well conserved is considered one of the most endangered forests in the world.   The “Plant A Billion Trees” campaign has the potential to remove 4 million tons of CO2 from our atmosphere every year and improve critical cycles providing water and hydropower to over 130 million people.  In addition to revitalizing this critical global resource this project is expected to create over 20,000 jobs in Brazil.  Only $1 per tree everyone can help, visit the link above for more information about this project.
